Dubrovnik Sun Gardens Resort Sold to Chinese Investor

Foreign investment in Dalmatia’s luxury waterfront hotels is increasing. Last year Hotel Le Meridien in Podstana near Split was sold to the Odien Group, with offices in Prague and Istanbul. The luxury D-Marin resort in Sibenik has been one of the outstanding starts of this season`s upscale tourism, a project by the Turkish Dogus Group. Now, according to a press release, Dubrovnik Sun Gardens is under Chinese ownership.
Built in 2009, the modern beach resort has established itself as one of the foremost luxury and conference hotels in Croatia. The hotel comprises 201 individually designed rooms and suites, extensive sports, leisure and health facilities (including a multi-award-winning spa), various restaurants, retail and food shops, a conference zone spanning more than 1,100 square metres and 207 high quality apartments, fully furnished in the Mediterranean style. More hotels could potentially be built on two neighbouring plots in the near future.
