Savills announce Montenegrin and Croatian association.
British interest in Montenegro up 300% in one year (Land Registry)
International Property Consultants Savills has formed a new association with estate agents Dream Property Montenegro & Dream Property Croatia – the largest real estate and property consultancy business in the region. The company was founded in 2002, with a head office in Dubrovnik, Croatia, offices in the UK and Ireland plus a network of 7 regional offices throughout Croatia and Montenegro.
Charles Weston-Baker, Savills International comments: “The British have shown great interest in these emerging markets, and most recently in Montenegro where prices have increased by 30% in the last year. It's an area of great potential with exciting resorts coming on stream, as well as wonderful old stone properties – all with the added bonus of a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters.”
Kieran Kelleher, Managing Director of DPM and DPC adds: “We are delighted to have formed an association with Savills, the most prestigious global real estate brand. It is tremendous news for our business as it will help to reinforce our place in the market as the trusted leader in both Croatia and Montenegro.”
The booming Montenegrin market has been fuelled primarily by investors – and within the last three to four months interest has grown in the second home market. Traditional old stone properties in UNESCO protected Kotor sell for £130,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, with villas by the sea / waterfront properties selling for £200,000. Purchasers also have the opportunity to buy 500 sqm plots for £57,500, with option to build 130 sqm stone villa with pool for less than £140,000.
